Thinking about m6 to a3 or a4 swap, what do you think?
Hey guys, Im thinking about swaping out my t-56 for an auto. Want to run more consistant and Im thinking about getting more serious with the car. Questions i have are:
Are the 411s over kill on a spray car planing on low 10s?
Is the a3 completly not steetable?
What rpms would i be at at 80mph with the a3 compared to the a4
How much cheaper would it be going a3 route, and what are the benifits of a turbo 400 and the benifits of a 350?
Thats about it, if any one has any real world experience with the swap or how the car drives please ring in.
Thanks
Alex

I have a th350 in my car...went from M6 to A3.
I had 4.10's w/ the M6....Now I have the stock 3.42's back in, and I love it. The 4.10's to me were too much for a daily driver. At about 60mph it was turning about 3200rpm. Now with the 342's in it I am doing about 70 @3200rpm. It is a blast to drive. Not sure on the gas mileage, I haven't got the speedo working yet, parts should be in tomorrow though.
With the 4.10's in my car it felt like the car would have topped out at like 90-100mph, with the 3.42 it is way better. Driving around town, w/3400 stall I don't even notice the stall.
I wish I would have done it sooner instead of putting 3-4 clutches in the M6 first
