Default 4L65 in a 01 camaro?

Are there any differences in the "65" as compared to the "60" that would not allow it to work in an F-body aplication? Are the 65's any better than the 60's?

Yes the 65 will work in your camero. It has some differences the big difference is the 5 pinion planetaries. In all our level 5 extreme duty units we use the ac delco ones. This unit starts as a 60 that we convert to the 65 spec's. We are currently running a free shipping special on all transmissions and parts. Here is a link to our level 5 unit. http://finishlinetrans.com/store/pro...116ed87f72e57d

Correct the 4l65e just has 5 pinion planets , and other than a possible bellhousing change provided its a 2wd it should be a direct swap .

The LS1 bells are all the same. I believe you will have to change the tail housing and the shifter linkage. Maybe the second gear servo.
