Question strange noise?

This morning I started my car up only to hear a loud knocking noise. At first I was sure it was the motor making the noise. But when I climbed under the car and listened, it sounded like it was coming from the rear of the engine. Is it possible that the converter bolts came loose. You can only hear it at idle. once you come off idle the noise completely goes away. I dont any tools to pull down the dust cover and I'm 35 miles from home at my friends house. I have to get the car towed back home. Its also leaking coolant too.

Have any of you ever heard of loose converter bolts only making noise at idle?

It could be loose tc bolt's or a broken flexplate.

I've got a TCI sfi approved flexplate. But wouldnt it make noise all the time if the flexplate was broken?

I pulled down the dust cover this morning and found that the flexplate bolts have backed out. Tave any of you heard of this happing? I just hope the crank bolt holes arent trashed.
