Default 4l60e from LT1 to LS1...

I am wondering if a 4l60e from a 95 LT1 will fit in an LS1 car. I have a 2001 SS and I am wanting a back up tranny. Will it work?

Yes, it will bolt up ... BUT, you will need a custom converter to go from the LS1 engine to the LT1 transmission. It would be more costly then finding a more suitable 4L60E (LS1 style) back up trans. The LT1 input shaft is shorter then the LS1 input shaft, is the reason why mainly.
