Used stall/converter experiences?
I am considering picking up a used Vig converter at an excellent price and was wondering what experiences members have had with the purchase of a used converter? Also is the warranty/ 1 free stall adjustment transferable? Also whats it cost to send it back to Vig to be freshened up?
Thanks everyone for your input

Vig (PI) charges $225 to cut open their converters.
I bought a Vig for $425 with the seller (friend of mine) sending it back to PI to be cleaned before I bought it. Easily the best thing I've done to my car besides tires.

i would be a little skeptical about buying a used converter just because you just dont know what is going on with one i personally would get a new one just so you have assurance on what your getting

Only ways I'd buy a used converter:
-I actually get to ride in the car and see that it is running fine and not having lockup issues
-I was planning on having it freshened up anyway (which kinda cancels out the price savings of buying used instead of new most of the time)
You just don't know if someone blow'd up their tranny and took the converter out with it, or if the lockup clutch is fubar'd. Just be smart about purchasing stuff like that from people you don't know and you'll be fine.

My Yank was used and it kicks *** .I am currenly selling my TCI 3800 not because there is anything wrong with it (its a great street verter) but because i changed the direction my car was going in .People change setups all the time, i would bet most used verters are from guys changing setups or parting out their rides.

the guy said he switched to a yank 4400 pro thruster when he added a 9 inch to the car...
I also searched his posts and he never has mentioned any tranny problems. I might just end up sending it back to VIG
