How do i get to the bolts holding the convertor to the flywheel?

Through the starter pocket. Remove the starter and you'll see what I mean.

thanks, also how long do you think it would take to pull out my 4l60e and put in another one?

Depends if you have the VERY long extension that makes unbolting the trans itself easy or not, and whether you have a lift, and whether you have air tools, and whether you run across any other areas that you have to stop and ask questions about.

In a shop, on a lift, with air, and with experience, it can be done in under 2 hours easily.

On the ground, hand tools, and stopping to take breaks and find answers, more like a weekend.

Be VERY careful not to pinch the wire harness when the trans is reinstalled.
