98 ls1 tranny in 97lt1 camaro(will it work) i have a 97 z28 camaro and my tranny is having problems so my friend has a 98 ls1 and he's switching over to a 6 speed. will the 98 ls1 tranny bolt right into my 97 lt1 anything need's to be changed to make this work!

It wont work! it wont work even if the bell housing was changed. wow so you can take a turbo 350 or 400 from any year and install it in the new school but you cant take a tranny from a 98 and but it in a 97 wow!
