Default tranny problems help!!

Wife heard a clank noise and tranny started messing up, won't shift into 2nd without lowering speed, then won't shift into third unless you lower speed again. Checked tranny fluid, I don't see any real level on the dipstick. Would adding tranny fluid solve it or is it too late?

Being low on trans fluild can cause damage quickly but adding the fluid is definatly worth a shot ,

fluid level is fine. I took to AAMCO to get it diagnosed and they said it's probably the planet plate or bearing or something. I'm gonna just get a whole new trans on ebay. are there any auto trans swap writeups anywhere?
