Default TCC wil not lock up please help.

The trans was rebuilt with a TCI kit and will intermittantly lock up. I tried to use a scan tool to lock it up but it still will not.
I had an extra TCC solenoid and TCC PWM solenoid and installed then still to no avail.
Any Ideas?
Josh

If it will intermitantly lockup its likley not a converter or trans issue , Engine miss fire is the first thought that crosses my mind. it may not set a code , It may or may not makethe ses blink quickly. If you have a tuner I would raise the engine missfire tables and try that, There are further test you can do to eliminate the trans and converter but I would try that first , If it dosent help give me a yell and ill give you some more test to do ,
Thanks

There may be no code for missfire even though it may be happening,
You said you have a TCS code what is the actual number for the code?

I had the same problem..Maxed out the misfire codes on HP Tuners & that cured the problem.

I agree, it is more likely a tuning issue than a physical fault in the unit.

That is exactly why we are now offering a Transmission Only Tune... it will completely eliminate this and other intermittant issues that are directly related to big converters, power adders, gear changes and all the other trappings of owning a computer controlled high performance transmission.

Good Luck!

When you change converter, the engine's rotating mass is now altered (stall converter is smaller/lighter than stock converter)...

so you probably should do a crank position relearn since the PCM uses this learn info to detect misfires (checks crank acceleration after each ignition event, different rotating mass causes acceleration to be different).

When PCM detects misfires, it unlocks the TCC; the PCM does not necessarily turn on the MIL lamp when misfires are detected, but it should log a misfire count; also, the PCM logs "TCC off due to misfire" in the TSTATE10 pid.

Edited for corrections.
