Default shifting question

Hey guys I have a 98 ta a4 well while driving on the highway i can feel the car shift 1st 2nd and 3rd but i dont hear nor feel the tranny hit the overdrive is there a buttonim messing or a sensor out of anything?i run about 70-80 at 2500rpm or 60mph at 2000 rpm

that is about right with the RPM'S so it sounds fine

Engine rpm doesn't sound that far off . Try getting up to speed and with a steady throttle pull the shifter back to third gear and see if the rpm goes up !!

oh ok i must be just to use to my 6 spd 1st auto i have driven in a while and ya the rpm does go up if you keep it in 3rd or shift it down just thought i was cruising to high better just to ask than to find out the hard way
