Default stupid question inside

what's the big 2 inch or so circular plug looking thing on the passenger side of the tranny. I think fluid maybe leaking out of there on mine. Any ideas?

The part in question should be the band servo and if it is leaking it has an o-ring on it . That's the easy part , getting it out is the fun pat , but not impossible jusy seems that way in the vehicle !!!!!!!!!!!

thanks, hopefully it isn't, has anyone on here had they're dipstick not all the way put back in and the fluid leaks from there?

Yes that can happen to the best of them ! And as far as your question being stupid . How else do people learn ,isn't that what these web sights are for? If people don't want to help with the simple stuff they are here for the wrong reason!!!!!!!!!!!!!! John

alright, I think I figure it out, it looks like my new rebuilt tranny had the old pan gasket left on it because I let the car down off the jack and the fluid just poured out from the front of the pan out of gasket area. I can feel a tear in the part of the gasket sticking out of the pan. Should just be a simple gasket, filter swap hopefully.
