DEXRON VI now available at...
at your local auto parts store with the Irish name
Valvoline Fully Synthetic DEXRON VI...in a blue bottle...$6.xx/qt...
I'm looking into whether we can get it in gallons or not...
It's part of a new planogram, so your local store may still have it in the stockroom, but they should have at least one case and can order it from their warehouse as well...

It's available if you have an AC-Delco distributor nearby.
Part # 10-9029/88861037 $3.69qt.
12qts is what you'll need for 4L65E.
DexronVI will retrofit where DexronIII is called for by GM

My point was that you don't need to spend $6.xx per quart for synthetic ATF to get the performance benefits of Dex VI. As you said, Valvoline is basically marketing a high cost synthetic fluid under the Dex VI moniker. Nothing wrong with that I suppose, but it is somewhat misleading.
One of GMPT's main goals in developing the new fluid was to be 100% backwards compatible. At some point (due to pressures of increased fuel economy) we may be forced into going full synthetic. But for now, the benefits of full synthetic do not justify the additional cost.
