Default Do i need a new flex plate?

Im putting a new motor and converter with turbo kit in my car in a couple weeks. Im leaving the rest of the trans alone. The flex plate is factory replacement that has about 5k on it and no problems. Would it be wise to go ahead and put an aftermarket in there. Or is the factory just fine.

it depends on the year of the flexplate.

I have replaced several factory flexplates due to cracking in forced induction vehicles in the last year or so,

I highly recommend replacing it with an SFI rated unit.
