Thinking Of Doing This Swap What Flywheel Is Everyone Using? Will The Ls1 Work If Convertor Is Built For It?

stock flex plate works fine, just dremmel out the holes a bit,, no need for a special converter

If you use a LSX specific torque converter with the longer hub I think the stock flexplate will work. The 98 LS1 flexplate is dual pattern for the converter so it will work for a sbc converter pattern. The other option is the aftermarket flexplate which is SFI approved like TCI that is also dual pattern. The other thing to keep in mind is the LS1 conveter has a longer hub to slide into the back of the crank. If you use a regular sbc conveter, you'll need the adapter kit to extend the hub. So you have a few different ways of making it work.
