what would cause car to misfire in first and second but not 3rd car runs fine one minute then the next it acts like its not sparkin right or sumthing. only does it in 1st and 2nd gear... 3rd is fine...

Vince is correct, the symptom is related to engine load. In 3rd gear the engine does not have to work as hard, even at WOT.
A quality scanner will be able to detect which engine cylinder is misfiring if that feature has not been "tuned out" of the PCM. Once the cylinder or cylinders have been identified, it should be relatively easy to identify the source of the problem.
