4L60E interchange

Essentially they will be the same. However, one fundamental difference is the shift shaft. On the trucks it is longer to accomodate the Range Position Switch. It can be swapped out without major dissasembly though. They will have different band servos also, but that is not a big deal to swap out if you think you need to.
The truck unit will have a deeper pan as well.

2000 is a difficult year for interchange info.
I have a '92 silverado and used parts off a 2000 silverado (1999 build date) it was the '88 up body style. My truck is not a small block but I have seen a 2000 silverado with a gen 1 vortec engine.
Basically all you need to do is either find out what engine it had, or just look at the trans, if the input shaft has splines up to the end with no pilot, it will work, if it has 8 bellhousing bolts it will work. You will need to change out the tailhousing. And as already mentioned the servo and accumulator set up might be different and give it a different shift feel.
