I have a TH350 and am going to do the same thing next week. Try http://www.atiperformanceproducts.co...rebuildkit.htm for a good rebuild kit. A good rebuild kit without a valve body will maybe run 130 dollars and 330 dollars with a valve body. The shop I have doing it is only charging me like 100 dollars to install the parts. But check out that site they have everything you would need and I have dealt with them before and have had nothing but good service.

Default my experience

I am having a th400 built right now in place of my T56. The guy I am having build it is installing all of the best parts. Like a pro tree instant trans brake, reverse manual valve body, heavy duty sprag, and clutch hub. It is going to cost me close to $1000. But for a trans that I dont have to worry about it is well worth it. It all depends on what parts you put into your th400, and if you want a trans brake or not. But I would guess that with a simple th400 rebuild with only the basic parts needed you could have it done for $400.

Yeah I would have no doubt that it would last for a very long time. I have a friend that had his TH400 rebuilt with there parts and has been going for well over 4 years with no problems and he is making well over 1200RWHP.
