4L60E with Fuddle 4000 stall
Im worried about how long my transmission will last i currently had it rebuild with a shift kit and some new hard parts and a huge trans cooler, i will be running it with a 6.0, MS4 and other bolt-ons and a 150 shot of nitrous does anyone think that this is to much for this trans and that i will be breaking it soon i know this has prolly been asked 1000 times but i couldnt find anything when i searched and im was kinda pressed for time when looking for it

If the converter is setup right it will work great.
Unfortunately Ehat is sinking money into a junk 4l60 instead of building a th400 because he listens to some guy that bolted AFR heads onto an SS and became a self-proclaimed LS1 god.

Not really. Usually you want around 4000 with a small shot like he has, or 4400 on motor. Especially since he has a big cam(MS4) and will run it on motor as well.

You say you can't afford a th400...You're fucked when that 4l60 takes a **** and goofball doesn't honor the warranty.
And if you're worried about mileage you shouldn't be putting a ms4, lq9, and a 4k stall in your car. You drive around town mostly...a th400 won't hurt mileage much at all. Build a th350 then, I have a core here.
Two words: Honduh Civic. Buy one and put the ws6 in the garage.

What "new hard parts" are included? If they're anything close to a stock rebuilt, I would give it a month being generous if you're spraying or revving past 6,000 rpms.

Ok, first off don't NOT do a TH400 because of gas. If you need to drive the car throw a 28" tire under it to bring the Rs down a bit.
These convertor questions are tough without knowing exactly what you want out of the car. If your a 21 year-old kid living at home with Mom and Dad and can afford to dump all kinds of money into the car seeking the absolute best ET possible, go for the 4000+ stall. If your an old geezer just looking for a **** eating grin on your way to work every morning, a much smaller convertor will provide that. If you are like the majority of us, you are somewhere between those two. Please made sure you research your convertor stall speed and brand. The other guy is absolutely correct when he speaks about money. The 4l60e will break and it won't be cheap to fix when it does. For the price you will pay to fix it again, you could go out and buy a beater like the '02 Elantra I have in my sig. Then you can drive that to save gas and get a TH400. Also, do not price shop convertors, their is a reason why Vig is more expensive then the fuddle. I've had 3 convertors in a '98 Formy and driven several other cars with different combos. The vigilante is a quality piece, yes its more expensive then what you are looking at.

I have a Fuddle 4000 and MS3 cam,...runnin 11's on it....128K miles,...completely stock and has a trans cooler on it. I DO plan on putting a 200 shot on the car before long also, BUT it will NOT be on the Fuddle 4000,...and NOT the same stock trans either. Still wondering what trans i'll go with...probably TH400 but who knows.
