Default Trans Cooler w/Fan Questions

For anyone running a cooler with a fan mounted on it how did you guys wire them up. Do you just have a on/off switch to activate the fan or are you all using one of those kits that activate the fan based on the temps of the tranny?

I will be installing one on my car, but I will see about tapping into the FAN 1 (low speed) ground to activate it, so the temps are similar to the engine. My low speed fans currently come on at 180 and shut off at 170. When I add a 160 thermo, I will re-adjust the FAN 1 setting to match, while leaving the FAN 2 (high speed) at 190 or so. But you could probably just have the low fan speed setting come on at a lower temp then the thermostat, so it activates your trans cooler fan.

The B&M unit comes with a fan, but I found that it wouldn't kick in, or it would kick in at a realy high temp. I just wired a on/off switch to it, and just turn it on and off based on what my temp gauge shows.

Mine turns on automatically at 150 degrees. I run a super huge Perma Cool unit.
