Default got a friend with a 2000 hyundai accent automatic

My friend's accent has a little over 100k miles on it. It easily shifts into drive and reverse, but once you tap the gas, the car jerks. Around 30mph (in 2 gear i think) , it slips around 2500k. The car doesn't up shift until around 4000 rpm. what could be causing this? Is it a faulty transmission or could it be electrical?

You will need to have it scanned for codes several electrical causes are possible but without more info couldnt speculate a real guess as to why its happening
