Default 4L60E interchangeability Qestion

have a 93 chevy 2wd truck (built nov 92).....can I use a later 4L60E trans, does it have to be from a truck, what problems will I encounter with swapping a new trans in from later truck or car???????? thanks.

You can use a unit that is as late as a '97. The trucks use a different manual lever shaft. But it is easily swapped out.

The tailhousings will probably be different in a car, but they are easily swapped as well.

As G says you can use through 97 in the one peice case, However if you use 95 up you will need to make some mods for the PWM, If you end up with a 95 up feel free to give me a yell and I can help you with the PWM solenoid issue so that you will have lockup.
