Default low buck glide

I can get a working chevy powerglide from a 60's wagon for 75 bucks.Can it be built as cheap as a tubo 400 to handle about 750hp?I have a turbo 400 I was going to build soon but came across the glide car is going to be 80% strip 20% street

i did just the same thing and spent 600+ just on a basic build and I get stuff close to cost

retail-
valve body 150
input shaft 100
front pump 150
dual servo 40
clutch hub 30
deep pan 100
full rebuild kit 130

$700

adds up quick just for basic needed parts

You need to know if it has a stamped steel carrier or a cast iron carrier.

The stamped steel carrier has 1.8x gears while the cast carrier has 1.76's.

The stamped carrier won't handle that sort of h/p very long.
