Default TH 350 - shift up and down 2-3 permanently

Hi,
I have an Impala 350 cui with a TH 350.

Since a couple of days the tranny shifts up and down two times a second. I have the feeling that this is mostly the case when the engine is hot aftewr 10 miles.
I have changed the oil and the filter, and the oil level is correct.

What yould be the reason for my problem, what can I check?

James

Today I checked the modulator hose. No leak and no oil inside. What is my problem?

I use Dextron III instead of Detron II, does this have any effect?

No fluid type would have no affect, Do you have the PASSING GEAR "DETENT" cable hooked up maybe its to tight

I removed the detend cable and I still had the problem. I think a TH 350 do not need a detend cable, because it is only necessary for downshift. Is this correct, so can I do something wrong by adjusting the detent cable?
