Default 4L60E Swap...98 Suburban into a 96 TransAm

I have a transmission out of a 98 suburban and i wanna put it in my 96 transam

I think it'll work if i just swap out the tail shafts....is that right??
I had someone tell me it won't work.

I believe the case is different on the two transmissions and also the shifter linkages. Your fbody has a case where the bell housing is not removable and the suburban has a removable bell. Not sure if this is going to work for you without a bunch of headaches. The wires that you are seeing are for a neutral safety switch or a PRNDL switch.
