Default TH400 or 4L60E opinions

ok lets try this again and i dont care about stickies i wanna hear opinions and some prices

so i just recieved a TH400 from a friend of mine that was just freshend up by a local speed shop. iam being told by many people not to put it in becuase A i would lose power B i lose OD and C its a heavy transmission and isnt any stronger than stock.

i really dont mind losing OD, i have a DD that i will be driving alot more, i really dont mind losing some power as long as it is not a consideral amount. if that trans is stronger i will sacrafice considering i got the tranny for FREEEEEEEEE

my ????'s are if i do decide to do this conversion what eles will i need.
i know i need.....
M6 crossmember
longer drive shaft
different shifter ( wich one i do not kno)
flex plate
computer tuning

now as of a converter i can get a 3800 stall for it if i buy a different flexplate will that converter work?

now what would be a price for this conversion and what eles will i need

I got my crossmember from midwest chasis and strange 3" chromemoly driveshaft from Erik also for a little under $400 for both. Sfi approved flexplate for a little over $200. Still using the stock shifter and I have hp tuners.

whoa totally read that wrong. Usually people come on here asking what it will cost to buy the pieces that go to putting the install together. No offense but why didn't you read the sticky? In there it doesn't say any prices but tells you exactly what to do.

And in your post at the bottom you asked the price so I was giving you a break down. Other than the parts I stated you can get a nicer trans cooler with some braided steel lines and an fittings also.

Looks like he answered all the questions... except for to tell you whether to do it or not. He covered what you needed, how much it was, and also stated that he was using HP tuners. He also commented that you don't need another shifter as he's using the stock one.

It's gonna be a tad slower than the 4l60 you have now, due to gearing, and a little heavier also.

Use it or not????? Yes... when you brake the 4l60.
