Moving to TH400...a few questions
About 6mo ago I slowly lost 1st gear in my 4L60E and a week or so after that 4th gear went. The car has been sitting in my garage since then, and I'm going to be in the position to be able to fix it soon. Should I have my stock trans (100k) rebuilt and hope things don't break again or go th400? I want to do this the cheapest most effective way so that I have a reliable car again, I'm not too concerned with losing OD. What is involved/parts needed to install a 400? any comments are greatly appreciated

I would consider a built 60e myself. As for the 400 you would need a relocate the torque arm, Drive shaft change, Cross member change, flash PCM for and M6 and buy and adapter kit for the speedo ,
I dont think you would come out cheaper and you will find that with the 40 you will launch slower due to the higher 1st gear ratio and besides 4th you will loose lockup on top of that and the car will be much more expensive to operate further increasing cost.
I would consider and built 60e either from us or any sponsor on this board can suit your needs and a stall converter dumdumdum
