Default What stall is right for me? Transbrake TH400 Converter.

Ok first a little about the car.

98 LS1
Precicsion GT42-76 1.12AR(single turbo truck mani setup)
Car makes 470ish Hp on 6 psi. (car will be tuned and boost upped to around 550whp. probably 9 psi or so)
Car has LPE 2 step(newest version with retard)
The car was a t56 car, quickest it has gone without the 2 step was 12.0 @ 116 with a 1.79 60 ft. The car was bogging horrible out of the whole. With the 2 step, we hope for a little quicker.

Motor is stock except ls6 valve springs, and hardened stock length push rods.
Car weighs 3600 with a driver.(i plan to get about 300 pounds out of it this winter)
So race weight should come in about 3300 pounds.
The car is getting a built th400 with a transbrake from DRC. They are a local trans shop in my area, and speed inc highly recomends them to me.

I have talked to him a little about a converter. He gets custom converters supposibly very nice which is an option. THen i have chance, coan, PI, ACE, Performabuilt, YANK all in the back of my mind.

Lots of options out there. Since i got lots of shops opinons i would like to see what you guys suggest for a stall speed for my specific car.

Car is not a daily driver, and sees little street time.

Right now A PI vigilante Th400 converter is what im leaning toward. I was also thinking about 3600 or 4000?

What do you think?

Thanks, Chris

chance gets my vote, and whatever they recommend. they spec converters everyday.
chance might be a little overkill for a 600 hp car, but the converter is pretty important.

I agree converter is very important. Neal Chance is great. I know everyone is gonna come in here and say that, but damn they are expensive. There are alot of great converters that people have alot of good luck with.

Yup, I called them a when I was putting my setup together and they told me I didn't need what they had to offer, lol. They're more for the 1000 + hp cars.
