Default Launching with a stall

I am in the process of building up my second gen and needed some advice for a stall converter.
Its a street car with the occasional track day. The motor will be making around 400-450. It will have a set of 3.42s. I originally was looking at a 2400 stall but now am leaning more towards a 3000. Its a th-350 and my question is if i get a bigger stall will it still be streetable and with a higher stall will that just blow the tires off on the line?

thanks in advance

I'm sorry, I don't have an answer as to why they are pink but reading this made me laugh. Maybe the guys over at PI really like the color of bubblegum . I've been trying to figure out what stall won't destroy my street tires too, although we are in 2 completely different situations..best of luck!

I daily drove a 3600vig with 3.73's for 2 years and loved every second of it. Id go higher then a 3000. Its easy to blow the tires away if you want to but you wont if you don't mash it.

Default Torque Converter

At FTI Competition Converters we can build a converter that will drive
like a 2500 rpm stall but actually stall at 3200 rpm. We do this by running a little lower Stall Torque Ratio. This also helps keep the tires planted on the launch as it does not hit so hard.

This would be the best choice, FTI converters work great on the street. It is tighter then my Yank SS3600 was for daily driving.
My 3800 FTI drives like a 3000 stall on the street but runs 1.45 60' at the track with sticky tires.

Every FTI is built to your combo.....not off the shelf, and the performance is second to none. We have run one of the top winning teams in the big$ bracket circuit throughout the Eastern US and have installed, run, and raced most of the known brands through the years and the FTI is far & away the best we have seen not only in performance, but the service & turnaround if a restall is needed.

Last LSX shootout winner runs a RevXtreme/FTI:

And Marc Fishers Vette cover bracket car:

The expolded view display...so there is no doubt as to the quality that goes into these converters:
