Tick Performance is seeking employees in the Winston Salem / Mt. Airy NC region With our workload constantly growing, we are planning to fill a few positions in the upcoming months. Currently we are located in Mooresville NC but we are considering a relocation to our original area of Mt. Airy NC (30 minutes north of Winston Salem, 1 hr and 20 minutes north of Mooresville).
This relocation is not set in stone, but is likely. The move will hopefully take place by July, but could be sooner. Therefore we are willing to take applications from both the Mooresville/Charlotte area as well as the Winston-Salem/King/Mt. Airy region.
With this move, we will be required to fill a full time tuning position. Currently we share our location with PCMforless who has handled all of our tuning for the past 5 years. All applicants for the tuning position should be experienced with multiple softwares and will be required to provide customer references if never employed by a large GM based performance shop. Tuning duties would require strapping the cars down, etc. Some sales work / phone duty may be required between tunes.
Also, we are seeking a full time mechanic. Duties may range from simple header installs to complete engine assembly.
Last, we are considering the possibility of adding another transmission tech. Duties would be include rebuilding of t56 transmissions and possibly other manual transmissions. Work in the shop may be required such are transmission removal, clutch installs, etc.
Mechanic and transmission tech positions will require your own basic tools. Specialized tools will be provided. Fabrication and welding experience is a plus.
All applicants MUST apply in person unless you currently work for a well know LSx performance shop elsewhere and are looking to relocate to NC. Upon application, be prepared to answer basic questions about GM/LSx performance. A few basic and random questions will help us determine how experienced and knowledgeable you are.
Pay will vary depending on experience level. Insurance will be provided after 3 months. Full time employees receive paid holidays and one weeks paid vacation each year after the first year. Employees will receive parts at our cost.
Some travel may be required to races or events we sponsor. Some Saturdays may be required, however we typically only work Monday-Friday 9am to 6pm.
Currently all 5 of our employees live north of Winston Salem and commute 1 hour plus to Mooresville each day. I am willing to carpool until the move back north is complete. Please don't let the location issue keep you from applying if you feel you are qualified!
