I agree with your point, but the LT1 is still available. The GXP received the same engine the base Vette was getting, but the SS can't...? A more realistic comparison is this car (SS) to the G8 GT, as the GT also left some bits on the table. There's no contest on the interior, but if I'm paying this much for a performance sedan, I'd want the Gen 5 engine (an preferably an optional manual transmission).

Maybe they're trying to clear out LS3's or maybe they don't want to release it with the LT1 until the Vette gets a power bump in the form of a new model (Z06 etc.)
Who knows? It's still a great looking car. The LS3 is far from archaic at this point and still plenty capable to be crying over DI and the ~30hp bump the LT1 SS would be rated at.

Well did the new LT1 come out before the Chevy SS revealing? If I'm not mistake I think the rumors/specifications of the SS came out way before the C7 Corvette/LT1. I mean I know their Chevy so they should all know whats going on in their departments but who knows. Revealing the SS with a Chevys new LT1 would of taken all the fame away from the C7 revealing? 2014 Camaros still got the LS3 I'm sure in a few years they will change it.
But someone told me there's going to be a S/C Chevy SS? I just think there's a Callaway version. Anyone know more about this?

GM is just being typical ****-up GM/ I don't care how good the interior is over the G8, for that much money it needs the interior AND the latest engine. the LSx **** is all in the past now, even despite the ls3 being a great motor, the LT1 is still the latest, greatest, and best performer (from early results anyway)

Holden hasn't adopted the LT1 at home, which is why this car doesn't have it. If (more like when) Holden does adopt the LT1 in their range we will see it in this car. Hopefully for 2015 or 2016.
