Default Camaro SS outperforms Vette on the dyno

I thought this would be an interesting article to share with you fellow car enthusiast. According to Hennessey the 2016 Camaro SS actually produced more than 20 RWHP than the Corvette Stingray.

Camaro SS: 431 RWHP
Corvette: 410 RWHP

Here is another comparison conducted by JDP which gets similiar results.

Camaro SS: 421 RWHP
Corvette: 417 RWHP

The Hennessey one basically means nothing. They weren't dynoed the same year, let alone the same day.

The second one is much more realistic. Same thing happened with the C5 and 4th gens, though that was the SRA vs IRS. Hard to say what makes the difference between the C7 and 6th gen.

The 2014-2016 Corvette Stingray is lighter but from what I have seen they run pretty close 1/4 mile times too.

You're only talking 4 HP difference, could be anything. You probably get that much variance in the engine production alone.
