Toyota Planning New 250hp Scion tC

Word has it that Toyota plans to introduce a high output version of the tC and why not with competition from so many other manufacturers. The biggest complain with the tC has been a lack of power as the Camry's 2.4L 4 banger making 163 hp doesn't exactly make the car a barn burner. IIRC Scion offers a dealer installed supercharger kit for the tC so I'd be willing to guess that perhaps Toyota will offer a blown tC from the factory. The other route is some sort of high revving motor in the vein of the 2ZZ-GE from the recently discontinued 7th Gen Celica.

my ex had the 160hp tC with a 5 speed and that car is a fun little car for what its worth. could use some more grunt (especially with some weight in the car), but its so light that if you keep the revs high enough in the vvti that the car would move pretty nicely. i love it and i think it would make a awesome DD.

i just bought my wife an 06' TC about a month ago. its a fun little car to drive, i'd take one for a DD, gets almost 30mpg, looks pretty cool, nice build quality, tons of nice options, and a great price. the 250hp version would be a blast i am sure, but not a performance car like a f-body
