Oh Yeah!!!!!
I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch, but it sounds like I am getting a whole new rear end assembly on my 04' under a GMPP warranty. The GM warranty claims adjuster will be out to the dealership today. I advised that it is routine to put the 06-07 diff when replacement is necessary, so hopefully I have a brand spanking new 06/07 diff in a few days.
What's great is it was only whining and the bushing were bad. No grenade.

Lucky dog! I must be the only person whose dealer rebuilt their original rear under GMPP warranty! They flat out refused to put the updated assembly, even though I know of other cars on which they put the new assembly in to.

congrats,
I just got an 06 V and am curious on the generations. From the factory what does mine have? Am I going to have an issue taking it to the drag strip. My buddy with his 04 blew his up on his third pass a month or so after he got it so I have never really clutch dropped over 2k. I realize I have a better diff but how much better and is there another gen? Thanks
