Default Weather strip

Have any of you other V1 guys been told you can remove the weather strip at the top of the windshield? Mine came out the other day and some of the windshield repair places are telling me i can take it all the way out as it serves no purpose... fact or fiction?

There's a weather strip up there?

Mine doesn't have one, but it does have a replaced windshield

I don't know. I know mine has one, and its factory. I would imagine it would look shitty without it.

A friend of mine had a beater plymouth in high school and the weather stripping up top worked its way out one day on the hwy when he decided to test out the top speed. At 120 it came loose and started slapping the roof. Scared him pretty good, but he just pulled it out and it never leaked.
