Default CS MotorMounts installed today

Just finished the install a few minutes ago. HOLY HELL what a pain in the *** that was!!... How much $$$ in labor would a dealer have charged me?? I'm trying to make myself feel better lol

Here is the only picture I took. Had to trim the heat shields a little b/c they were a little long.

Haven't started it up yet, but my old driver's side one was spewing out so I'm sure it'll be an improvement.

I installed the newer CS Mounts a month or so ago and did not have to trim the heat shields. What caused you to have to trim them?

Judging by the picture, they were trimmed because the shield was installed on the top of the mount, not the bottom. That's how the stock heat shielding is installed.

When I had done mine, I put the CS heat shielding on the bottom of the mount and that required no cutting.

I put mine on the top and didn't have to trim at all...

The shield was longer than the motor mount, so I trimmed it around the mounting bracket. They may have worked if I put them on the bottom...

The shield is supposed to go on the top of the mount. Not only to protect it from heat from the headers/exhaust manifolds, but the heat from the engine block itself. If you did install it on the bottom you mounts will be in direct contact with the heat from the engine block. This is what caused my previous CS mounts to fail. Yes the heat shields are longer but don't need cutting. You must have installed them incorrectly.

Weird, the heat shields in my car don't look like that. They look like crumpled up, thick foil cups.

You probably have the old version of the heat shields. CS redesigned them for more protection.

My bad, I was referring to the stock shields, not CS shields. I am running stock shields with UMI mounts.
