so last night i picked up my 1st ctsv, ive been wanting one for the last few years and last night i picked up a 2005 silver cts-v all stock except an intake...
what are the mods that should be done asap for these V1's? i plan on eventually getting full exhaust but i hear the shifter needs to be swapped, anyone know what shifter? thanks in advance

Motor mounts, diff bushings, cradle bushings. Ls7 clutch, short shifter and g force axles. That covers most of the basics.

IMHO, if your car isn't going to do burnouts and the clutch and diff are okay, I'd leave them alone. Otherwise, you'll need axles to eliminate wheelhop. A shifter, on the other hand, is just about mandatory. PISNUOFF's shifter is the way to go. Get a CAGS eliminator if you don't already have one.

After that, what you're going to use the car for (DD, track, strip, occasional burnout, etc) will dictate which mods make most sense.

Welcome. Flush all fluids namely clutch and rear diff.

CAGS eliminator, motor mounts, trans mount, rear diff bushing, shifter....ASAP.

Oh, disable the orange DRL. Hate that.

After that (should be ordering to install this weekend), like Randy said, depends on your plans and how you drive the car.

Welcome! Just like everyone else said:

Motor mounts, trans mount, rear diff bushing, heck all revshift bushings.

Shifter is a must, I love my Katech shifter but I know Pisnuff shifter is a top notch product! Also while you're at it all the linkage upgrades are cheap and well worth the effort.

CAGS must go, if you have or know someone that has HP Tuners that can turn it off for you or get the adapter.

That is the best way of doing it without getting it tuned out.

And lots of info in the archives on the other forum.
