Default New Borla or Used GMPP

Ok. I am going nuts on my car (it's like a crack addiction to me). I found a used GMPP for $500.00 locally (I'm waiting on some pics to confirm). I also found a deal on a new Borla $985 shipped. Is that a good price? I am getting a bunch of stuff done to it and I can swing the extra cash. I'm in deep anyways, so if I do this it will be close to $5000.00. My car is a cream puff with 23k on it. I have had it for 7 years and I put on 9k on it. That's one of the reasons I am skeptical of the used exhaust.

I know I might get a little power increase but not worth the $500-1000 bucks worth. What would you do if you were me Stock, GMPP or Borla?

Does the Borla drone? I am assuming the GMPP doesn't. I have had bad exhaust experiences so that's the reason I'm asking.

This is what I am getting done: CS mounts all around, Rev shift cradle bushings, DSS drive shaft/axles, a tune, and a Volant (too good of a deal to pass up).

There's a good change the GMPP you found was made by Borla.

I'm waiting for some pics. He has pics of the mufflers but I cant make out the x pipe. I know that the GMPP was either a Corsa or Borla.

if you dont have headers yet i would put the money toward that and not the cat back. JMO. it would make the motor mount install 100% easier as well since the manifolds and cats will be off. other wise you could be talking the same exact exhaust as mentioned.

That GMPP exhaust appears to be the Borla version. I passed when I first saw it listed a few months back because the tips stuck out too far from the bumper.

Whoever the person that's selling it doesn't want to deal on it either. I'm going to wait. I wanna see what the car is going to be like with what I'm getting done. Plus I keep looking at C5's and WS6's. My v is too nice to drive daily and I want a convertible. Nothing too nice something I don't have to worry where I park.

or spend $250 on an x pipe and a set of Borla mufflers off ebay and then spend $600 on a set of headers. sounds like winning to me!

Just cut the mufflers off and weld straight pipes in with some nice tips. It is not overly loud at all. My friend just did this and it actually sounds really nice and he even picked up 1-2 mpg

3rd. I almost did this but I got in on a stainless works sale so I pulled the trigger. A local V here has it and when I went on a cruise with him and a huge southern California club with all types of rides, everyone said ours sounded pretty beastly.

I have heard both in person at a V meet back in 2009. If i had the cash Borla all the way. Sounds fantastic, better than my SW 3in exhaust .
