Wtf is this sound! From rear.
V1
Chirping from what sound like right rear. Could be else where haven't had a friend crawl around or drive next to me yet.
Braking does not change it
Apply E-Brake no change
Turning. No change
Replaced wheel bearing with timken. no change.
While I had the wheel bearing out I checked for signs of rubbing in all areas. Not a sign anywhere.
Over speed of 30mph.
Doesn't get louder but it does gets faster pace with speed.
Its intermittent. Some days it happens all the time. Some here and there.
Next I'll be putting it on the lift and hopefully it chirps when its over speed of 30mph. I'm lost as of right now.
Hopefully the video works. Sorry about the road noise.

Sounds like the drive shaft carrier bearing to me.

Mine has done that same sound, intermittently for the past 5 years. It almost seems to happen when it's cool outside mixed with a little bit of moisture. Same EXACT thing tho. Sometimes it happens so infrequently that I totally forget about it, then a few months later it starts doing it again and does it consistently. Then it'll randomly just stop as suddenly as it started!

That is one thing I haven't checked yet! I was so sure it was coming from the rear I didn't even think to give the drive shaft a run over. DOH. This entire time wasting the other day swapping wheel bearings I was for certain I had it fixed. Well 5hrs later it was still there. Well at least wheel bearings are good now haha. Mine also came and went as it pleased. One day it vanished now its returned with a vengeance. The carrier bearing makes perfect sense being all I stated above nothing changed. Since the drive shaft just rotates. Braking, turning, etc would not affect it.
I'll report back after I test that carrier bearing out!
Thank you!
Btw I also found this thread. Same issue and everything. Said to be coming from right rear and ending up bearing carrier bearing. Thanks so much for the info and the leading to figuring it out. Ill put the car on stands in the morn.
