Not really a spillover, just the "inspiration." I started this list after talking with odethetruth and we thought it would be cool to gather input from people.

RJ has already posted plenty of videos and blown tons of minds.

There are a few. CTS-V vs. The World is the biggest for Vs, CTSV1 vs. The World, CTS/CTS-V Owners/Admirers (this one gets the most laughs by far). There's also CTS-V Elite, but it was made by some V2 owners (big surprise) when some drama happened, or whatever.

Booo.

I'm tempted to throw my 94lb injectors in, yank the blower off, put an intake mani on, re-tune for E85 and see what happens NA just for *****. That should be ~500whp and I could easily buy a $300 shark nozzle kit on craigslist that'd do 150 no prob. Granted my motor is more expensive than necessary to make that power but the end game could be similar.... I want to go faster tho not slower lol

You should go over there and post some vids of your beast. You'll blow their minds.
Lol I guess what really happened is some one watched the first fast and furious where dom says you owe me a 10 second car and decided that they wanted to see if they could make thier v a 10 second car.

I'd have to agree with Nik that no one will actually attempt this strateg to see if its true. Most people who build their grocery getters to make them quick don't want to be reffiling nitrous bottoles all the time. They like to have consistent power hence why most guys would setttle for fi than nitrous.

Guys have figured out other patforms, this one has just been heavily neglected is all. It has it's quirks in the suspension but they will go... There are plenty of V1s that make as much or more power than I have but no one has seen 10s yet except that guy in canada and he is knocking on 9s as well with a built auto

Give it a few months I'll see what I'll do at the track when it opens. I'm putting down 568whp on a nice warm day also have a 8.8 and some mikeys on rims so when it opens I'll throw them on and head down to the track and see 1/4 times. My speculations is low 11s

Hell yea. Drive the **** out of it, review video, primarily of the launch, and try to find something to improve each pass! Looking forward to seeing it run!

Haha, agreed. The Camaro & Corvette guys hit this within months if not weeks of release and we're still bickering about it over a decade later.

Well low production numbers and not having a capable rear end is really the reason why. Was a couple years before there was an 8.8/9" solution.

Camaro and Corvette guys actually race their cars

That's the difference, and the only difference.

We have the same powerplant they do, access to all the same power adders, just no one has taken the time to figure out a slightly finicky rear suspension by racing and dialing it in. Mainly speculation, fancy theories and general claims that it can't be done. I just don't think anyone really wants to try it, which is understandable. It's a Cadillac after all and there are easier routes to take.

GulfM3 got to an 11.4 with doing all the TT work himself in his garage. Stock shortblock, fuel system, with H/C and a built tranny on DRs. With a better fuel system, deep 10s is definitely possible on the shortblock.

Is this car still around? Any plans to race it again and shoot for the 10s with it?

well because of having a son on the way, i highly doubt i'll be able to get into a legit "racecar" build with my V1.... atleast not enough to hit 10s BUT i do have all intentions of doing sort of a budget progression thread that'll keep track of all my purchases for the car and record it's progression in the 1/4 mile. it's currently on bone stock power, i did make a few passes with it last year but forgot the times. pretty sure the time slips are in the glove box but from what i can remember they sucked, lol. i just had the engine/trans mounts replaced with CS stage 2 mounts and have a Hurst shifter, full CS 8.8 setup w/ cradle bushing & ET Streets on stock wheels in the garage awaiting install. my plan is to see just how fast i can get this car down the 1/4 mile before i start doing power adders of any kind.

I bet id get close to the 10s with a five lug swap to get 15" wheels and 150 through a plate with a 6 speed.

You'd need to do more than that, imo. ~500whp in a ~4k lbs raceweight car will need one HELL of a 60 to cut that mustard.
