Question CTS-V Widest Tires?

Just posted this in the wheels and tires section ... dont know which forum is correct

I have a 2004 CTS-V and i am inquiring about puttin 275-40-18 tires on the back and keeping the stock 245-45-18 on the front

Does anyone know if a 275 will fit on the stock 8.5" rim without blowing a tire??

tks for any information that you can give

tks

So other readers don;t have to do a bunch of thread hoping:

275/40 - 245/45 no problems with rubbing. GSD3's bulger a bit in the back, but nothing bad.

Now running 275/40 245/35. Much less pronounced bulge in back with Falken Azenis rt615's.

No isuues. Search is your friend.
