Default Tach accuracy/first gear mis?

How accurate are the tachometers in first generation V's? The reason I ask, is that my car starts to mis occasionally as the tach goes past 5800 ish rpm in first gear. I'm not sure if it's the traction control or it's hitting the rev limiter. I guess i can verify the tach with my scan gauge. Though my car has original spark plugs, I doubt it's a mis, since it only happens occasionally in first gear only. Any thoughts?

Its pretty accurate, stock rev limiter is ssomewhere in the 6500-6700 range i believe. I doubt its a rev limiter or TC. Id swap out the stock plugs with some NGks just to be safe. Could also have to do with the quality of gas in the car just my 2 cents. Its strange that its only in first gear though.

Gus....I have the same problem with my 04 V. But it happens in 2nd and 3rd gear as well....not just first. I always run premium gas. Have you had yours tuned? I am working on a couple of of mods and then sending it to get tuned. Hopefully that cures the problem.

Change plugs and wires and turn the TC off and try it again.

I've driven an '04 with a Maggie and it did the same thing, only in first. Mine, with heads & cam, also started to do it recently. MIne seems to do it only when the tires are spinning though.

Gus do you have a Maggie as well? Do you guys think this has something to do with the TC?
