I personally dont like cats but I wouldn't chop ur kooks. Trade someone ur high flow catted connectors for the catless ones and some cash...

The catted connectors are $440 or so new. Catless are $240. Unless u just don't care about the $$$... Then chop em up lol

Im very happy with my kooks high flow cats it really helps the sound of the car. If you do wanna ditch them i agree sell them and buy the off road ones.

Off subject but has anyone heard of those kooks high flow cats having issues melting and clogging? It might have been bs but I was told the kooks cats had issues with that. I ordered the catless connectors for my kooks and I still have the catted set brand new (that I'm selling) but... If I install the headers and it's too loud or raspy with the catless connectors, as long as noone has had any issues with the catted connectors, I may give them a shot to see which way sounds better.

Btw OP, there is said to be a slight performance gain to be had going catless over catted but I'm sure it's such a small amount that it's really negligible... Especially with those high flow cats. So if you're doing it for performance only, it won't be a big difference.

I havent had any issues mine are 10k miles old. And I agree, the gains from going catless will be insignificant unless you were extremely modded(turbo, blower)
