No. They are different lengths than stock and the inner splines won't mate up to an 8.8 CV stub.

Yep, one will work, but the other will not as it is too long.

Are the axles equal length with the 8.8?
If so, then you should be able to use 2x of the shorter gforce axles, correct?

Let me correct my statement, in their full axles, you can use one of the actual axles.....

They are very close and I can get you measurements in the DSS axles...

Default New here so be gentle please :)

Just got my first CTS V 05 only 62k. Has a lwaking drivers side rear seal, and the rear end sings like a mocking bird between 40 55 under load.
SO I have been searching for a used rear end but am VERY interested in the 8.8 swap. What kind of $$$ am I looking at estimated of coarse for a total bolt in swap? THANKS HOOVY

Installed my DV8S 8.8 brackets, Cobra diff, DSS axles and GForce 2 piece driveshaft.

RevShift 75d Cradle bushings, RevShift Tranny Insert, RevShift MMs.....

No vibrations up to 85 mph.

I still need to wrap up a few small purchases and get an alignment to do some higher speed testing, but very happy with the results.

Would be interested in seeing the cost of DV8's bracket. Considering starting to piece together a 8.8 diff and then source the bracket/half shafts/driveshaft adapter.

So i found a local guy selling his 03/04 cobra 8.8 IRS...

I get the pumpkin, loaded with FRPP 4.10 ring and pinion, Carbon fiber traction lock, new bearings, stock 03/04 cover. 4-5k ish miles on entire set up.

$450.00

Will I have to change anything or can i just add the mounting brackets and axles and install it?

thanks in advance.

You will have to cut off the mounting tab on the cover and weld a plate on it. Check CSwebsite they have a pic of the modified cover

Great price.

Brackets, axles, Driveshaft option and modify the diff over and you are good.

Damn it... I wish I had seen this post earlier. Crawled under the car this morning to finish up the 8.8 install only to find the t-bird pinion flange does not match the driveshaft shop u-joint flange. This little detail needs to be added to post #1.

Finally finished my install. 3.55 gears with Trac Lok is awesome! Don't ask me why such a small gear change makes such a difference, but 1st gear actually has a purpose now. The dreaded 'clunk' is gone. No whine. Still has wheel hop, but I can try and sort that out later. Very glad I did this.

The company that makes them for them, can no longer source the Carrier bearing. Good Luck with the one-piece....

So I used the 'Perfect Launch' diff cover that several others have used. That required drilling and tapping a diff vent in the top of the case at about the 1 o'clock position when behind the car.. It's been fine for 1,000 regular miles, but Unfortunately I found that after some really hard driving this weekend I'm spewing diff oil through the vent. I'll have to see if I can reach up in there and do some kind of remote vent.

Grrr... Just when I thought I was done...

I had this issue (I have the same cover). I put a catch can in the trunk that also allows the diff to suck the fluid back in. Adding a baffle into the cover at the vent opening is an option as well
