That's true, but I'd rather order the right ****/handle the first time around. I'm just curious about a) what it'd look like installed (the T handle), and b) if the metal handle would be unbearable to a bare hand in -20 degree weather. I'll probably go the trial and error route anyway, but just wondering if anyone else has any experiences...

If the handle is metal. It's gonna be as cold as the surrounding temp. Is it ever comfortable to hang onto a -20 degree piece of metal?? Haha
Of course it will warm up as you handle it and car heats up.

Finally had a chance to install my hurst shifter. Absolutely amazing, worth every penny.

I had a metal shifter **** once. Freezing cold in winter and scorching in the summer. Esp if the sun was on it, couldn't touch it.

typically some form of a metal **** is the only way you can lean when you want a nicely weighted ****, though.

i feel like the hurst **** looks great (i have white), but it's too light.

i'll buy a TWM **** and just deal with it in the summer. in winter i wear gloves anyway.

Lol I'm so glad I live in Southern California... It barely gets to freezing where I live. It gets to a little over 100° in the summer sometimes though. But the heat isn't that bad, it cools off pretty quick with the AC. You can always cover it with a micro fiber cloth, as long as it stays out of the sun it will be fine. I usually have one in my car for cleaning the nav screen or the mirror or the inside of the windshield. I had a TWM Abrams in my last car... Also, I had 5% tint on all the side and back windows. So that helped a little

I'm going to order a Hurst T handle myself. I like the look of them. Has the feel of old school muscle car.

Maybe im missing something but i Noticed the picture of the kit is for a 2010+ camaro, what exactly are you doing to the supplied kit to adapt to the v1s that isn't already done besides the ability to use the stock shift ****?

Little confused in that and how it shortens the actual throws is all. Thx for any clarification.

I had a t-handle laying around, tried it on the v and it was out of place IMHO.

The white hurst ball sucks.

Paying over 125 bucks for the weighted ball is insanity. I found a 2" ball bearing from McMaster Kerr for cheap and when I get back in town i may order it, chuck it up on the lathe, punch a hole in it and then see what kind of upholstery options I have for covering it.

The Hurst as it comes from the factory will not work in the V. The hold down is the incorrect size and the linkage is wider than the base of the Hurst. Basically it will not bolt to the linkag and it will not secure to the car.

Purchased this and Brian was nice enough to offer to install it for me. Met up with him at his shop and put it in earlier today. Feels like a completely different car! Great product and great guy!

I made a thread on what it takes to do this on your own(search for it). Brian has a slick setup here to make it all work well with one stop shopping.

Like all short throw shifters the base length is longer and the top length is shorter making the throws shorter (it is all a simple lever)

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I think I'll give it a shot. Nice thing about this shifter is that the handle is easily replaced. I had another mod jump in front of this one on the priority list though, so it might be a little bit before I pull the trigger here. First, it's gonna be Philistine's master cylinder though.

If it's brushed, I'd gladly take it off your hands if it's still just sitting around...

Mines got sentimental value (had it sense I was 16) but you can find them all day long on ebay for fairly cheap. Like the way it feels but it was too big for the interior and looked way out of place IMHO...
