Default So this happens...

Hate it when something breaks crazy enough that the wife is actually right and Im wrong...

Wife calls me saying she is stuck at a stop sign two blocks from our house because the car will not go into gear. She said the gear is "loose?" and wont go into gear. Im like great, clutch or slave cylinder etc, just took dump on me. Over the phone Im getting frustrated trying to explain the concept of double clutching to see if it will engage into gear and all she can come up with is it wont, its loose.
Frustrated I leave my jobsite thinking is she would just listen Im sure we could at least get the car home. When I get there, I discover... dang she is right... the shifter is loose! It could rotate, 360 degrees without an inkling of finding a gear. Feeling like a I admit defeat and get the car home to discover whats in the pic. The shifter came apart at the linkage... I thought these two pieces were welded but here it looks like they are just pressed together?

I can't see the picture you posted, it opens distorted. My stock shifter separated into two pieces about half way up when I tried to remove the shift ****. I forced the two pieces back together, wrapped the shift **** in a rag, and gave it a few taps with a dead blow hammer. I was then able to get the **** off by pulling up, so it held together just well enough. Eventually replaced it with a short shifter from PiSNUOFF .

OP that sucks! No better time to upgrade! My UUC broke in half on me while driving, that was fun.

it is hitting my one piece 3.5" drive shaft on the boot... I am going to have him make one with a thicker base plate. I need like +/- 1/4" more clearance. I will probably just send this one back and sell the Katech STS, with **** and custom lower delrin bushings instead. PM me if interested in the Katech.

Thanks for the offers but I went with the Hurst shifter offered by Pissnuoff. Hopefully it will get in soon so I can get her back to banging gears in her car instead of mine.

Yeah it's pretty close on mine too but I have the 2pc DSS with the CS 8.8 kit. 54 inches didn't put any measures to mitigate vibrations but it's not too bad. I'm going to keep using it till I get my clutch MC swapped out. I like that it's a complete replacement and doesn't use any existing parts.

Nothing bad to say against the Hurst shifter but I don't have a mullet or own a WS6
