Exactly. CS has made it very very affordable to go 8.8 by allowing us to get our own diffs and use our stock driveshafts. 2800 is the same as if not less than a Moser 12" swap for F-bodies, and those guys do that all the time. If I wasn't saving up for rebuilding my hurt motor, I would be getting their kit.

The diffs that require the least amount of conversion are '01+ Cobras. I picked up an '01 Cobra rear, so it already has a high quality LSD in it and the correct pinion flange, but 3.27 gears. So all it needs is new gears and a seal/bearing rebuild kit. A diff out of an '03/'04 Cobra can basically be bolted right in if you really want as they have 3.55s, which would do fine with the torque you have from the Maggie.
All of this info is in 54inches' thread called "DIY 8.8 swap" or something like that. Diffs out of Thunderbirds and whatnot require more parts to be changed, I believe.

Lincoln mark 8, Thunderbirds, cobras. I believe the Cobras and the Lincolns are aluminum. I've heard mixed reviews about whether or not the IRS explorers diffs will work properly.
You only need the case. For racing sells gears, LSDs, and rebuild kits for pretty cheap.
I prefer iron diffs, but I have heard there isn't much of a strength difference. I have been putting of going to my local wrecking yard to pick one up, but getting just the diff case with the guts and stuff is pretty cheap if you pull it yourself.

Did the SRX or Sky Saturn/Solstice Diffs all have the mods from a GEN 4 CTS-V diff related to strong durability with increased bearing cover at pinion flange, case and other internals, which i didnīt know until yet?

Someone has installed a normally diff from CTS V6 like this one here:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/161498117020?...84.m1423.l2649
My question is:
Did it have a LSD inside, which the "G80" means in the description and is it the last Evolution, i can see this stronger bearing cover in the front at the pinion flange, but what about the internals, is it possible to swap this one "as it is" with no mods on it, will it fit?
Best regards,
Ronald
