PSA - Fuel Module/Harness Recall (N140405) is now actionable

Call GM and bitch about it. That's the same nonsense that they told me, they wanted me to take my car in to see which parts needed to be ordered and then again once they arrived so I called GM and they spoke to the dealership themselves and scheduled the appointment for me. I posted about it a few posts up and while I think they still waited till my car was there to order the parts they gave me a rental for the entire time.

Was passing by my dealer today, went in, and talked to one of the service writers about the recall.
"We did one last week."
"Yes, we have parts."
"No, you can't have a loaner."
Say, what?
Bought my wife's 2012 SRX there for $53k cash, so won't be going back soon.

Today I made my appointment for Tuesday the 26th and they specifically told me to bring my insurance card and license for the rental car. Didn't even have to ask let alone beg. She did say the loaner wouldn't be a V. There was a tech in the service writes office while this was going on and he said "another one" and was grinning ear to ear as I guess he probably can beat the book time.

dropped mine off at the dealer this am. Nice people but... first they tell me they can't give me the parts to do it myself or else cadillac won't pay them. Ok, I understand that. Then they call and say cadillac expects them to return an old module with the used pump and, since I've replaced the factory pump, they need to keep my walboro 255 unless I can come up with my old fuel pump (which I did). Then they call me and tell me they're not touching it, I can have the parts, but have to bring back the current bucket with some fuel pump in it. At first they were ok with the AN return line and the hotwire kit. I think that they still have to drop the tank to do the new wiring and to do that on my car, they'd need to mess with the 0/1 battery cable coming from the trunk around the edge of the tank. That was too much for them. Cool w/ me.

Scheduled mine to go in on June 1st. I asked if they provided loaners for recall work and the woman I was speaking to said, no, not if it's a "while you wait" kind of job. I replied that I thought this was pretty much an all day job, so she checked, then came back and said I would be getting a loaner. I have to wait an extra week as a result (since their loaners were booked up next week), but it's a bit less hassle for me, so I'm fine with that.

Went to pick my car up from the dealership today, took a little longer than expected. I dropped it off on Wednesday and it wasn't ready until late Friday afternoon. In addition to the brake line recall, they had to drop my tank twice. After the first time, the tech noticed the fuel gauge was reading empty, I brought it in with about 1/2 a tank. He dropped the tank a second time to check all connections, and ultimately pulled the sender and bench tested the float which had somehow gone bad during the swap. They ordered a new one, reinstalled, and that seems to be all sorted now. Now the brake line replacement, that's another story. My car is still at the dealership after a failed pick-up attempt this morning.
They gave me a 2015 ATS 2.0T AWD loaner that had 75 miles on it. I'm putting it through an aggressive break-in period. With the exception of exterior styling, interior room, automatic trans, and raw acceleration, its a better car than my V in just about every way. I was very surprised, and don't mind that I have to keep it through the holiday weekend.

They had to drop my tank twice also. I got it back and then I starting getting the fuel cap message. They had to order a new module and replace it. They claimed it was the sensor. All is good now but they did put 110 miles on the car to make sure the code didn't come back which seemed ridiculous but I don't see any ill effects from them doing this. I don't think they were lying when they said it was on the highway because the average mpgs did go up a bit. Had an SRX wish they had given me an ATS I was actually considering one.

my car has a Maggie on it. I bought it that way. Are there fuel upgrades that come with those kits? Do the Maggie's need more than the stock pump can supply. I'm wondering if I should take it in for this recall or just leave it alone.
