Default Gen1 sbc to carb'd 6.2 height difference

I am in the planning and buying parts stage to swap a 6.2 into my car. Does the LS carb pad sit any higher/lower than a gen 1 sbc? I am trying to figure out if I have room under the hood.

I guess I could have asked in an easier way to answer. Subject is a 65 Beaumont GM A Body. Will a LS with carb fit under a stock hood?

thanks

Jerry

Depends on intake on both engines really, overall dimension are pretty close engine height wise, also wi depend on engine swap plates and mounts too I would think.

I am installing a ls2 in a first gen camaro with a gmpp intake and carb. I am using the same engine stands and motor mounts with just a 5/16 plate difference in between. I can tell you it is taller in mine. I am having to go with a cowl hood to get a decent breather on it.

Sits about the same as a "same fitted" SBC. (well; mine did)

If a SBC with a VicJr will fit....an LS with a VicJr "should fit".
