Default Vacuum pump

So i have been wandering for some time now how beneficial a vacuum pump would be on my car or any car for that reason. I really dont know what they do and if its really a good buy.

From my experience, a vacuum pump will help ANY internal combustion engine. BUT, heres the but, they usually have a limited service life on a street car. So it pretty much depends on how much you street drive your car. The Big Block I had in my car had one, but the LS will not. I dont feel like rebuilding the vacuum pump every year or so. If its a race car, I would do it. We found 15 hp on the engine dyno with it on my 13-1 BBC. Hope this helps, Eric L

If you go with one on the street Ive had the best durability with the Moroso 4-Vane Enhanced Pump for LS Cars, BBC, SBC and many others.
