Default What tires are you guys running on your street rods?

I'v got a T-bucket with an LS-1 & just took out my 3.90:1 gears and put in 4.10:1 & also went from a 3000 stall to a custom 3800, now it doesn't hook up at all. I'v got M.T. Sportsman tires on it, 31x18.5x15 and I'd like to keep the same size tires on it, the problem is the selection is limited. I haven't found any drag radials that big, but I see Hoosier makes a Pro-Street radial, and M.T also makes Sportsman S.R. that's a radial. Not sure what will hook better, or if anyone has any recommendations. My rims are 15"Dx 14"W.

I just refuse to believe that will hook up with that converter and gears with that light weight chassis, the torque in that range is just ripping the power band in and doing its job, rotating that read diff!

These aren't too far off, size-wise...

There is plenty of cars out there w/ better power to weight ratio than this thing, There has to be tires out there that will hook up. Might have to get 12" rims to run drag radials, I'v been searching the internet, can't find anything that fits my 14"s I e-mailed MT, and they said their Sportsman Pro has a "drag" compound and wrinkle walls, but I don't know anyone that has run them.

How about running some big drag radials?

I has some Bias ply 'sticky' tires back in the day, did not hook that well.

Thay are regular Sportsmans, and I'd love to run a big drag radial, but I cannot find any that will fit my 15D x 14W rims. Was kinda hoping someone on here may know of a manufacturer that makes on. I'v spent alot of time looking online & can't find any. Or if anyone has run the Hoosier Pro-Streets? From what I hear they are softer than the MTs.
